Gerger Castle

The castle itself dates to the Middle Ages but it stands on top Commagenian heritage. Alert: at the moment,
the ridge can only be visited by very experienced and well-equipped enthusiasts!

Highlights of your visit:

-The ever-resting place of Samos II, grandfather of the great Commagene king Antiochus I
-4-meters high stone relief of the king on the vertical rock surface
-Remains of a medieval castle – outer walls, citadel, main entrance gate, cisterns and more
